Description: It can grow up to 1–2 meters tall, with a purple stem, dark green, rough, elliptic-lanceolate, serrate leaves, and blue-violet flowers. The stem of the plant is hollow, with axillary inflorescence and leaves arranged oppositely.
Uses
The leaves and roots of the plant are used in many Ayurvedic preparations. It is known as Sahachara. It is used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat a variety of conditions such as
Anti-inflammatory: The plant has anti-inflammatory properties.
Analgesic: The stem of the plant has analgesic activity.
Antimicrobial: The plant has antimicrobial properties.
