Sree Ayyappa College for Women has students hailing from BC and MBC categories. The OBC Cell in the institution was established to empower these BC and MBC students. The college takes a special interest in facilitating financial support to students from these communities from government agencies and other sources. The cell is always engaged in solving the various problems of OBC students.
The OBC Cell is composed with the following members:

- Manibala P.S., II B.Sc. Physics, Student Member
Objectives:
- To make the OBC students aware of various scholarship programme of State & Central Governments.
- To counsel and guide OBC students about various issues and help them to manage academic activities.
- To resolve problems related to OBC students.
Functions:
- To circulate State Government and UGC’s decisions about different scholarship programs.
- To communicate with the students and motivate them for better future planning.
- To deal with representations received from Other Backward Classes (OBC) Candidates regarding their admission, scholarships and other similar matters in the College.
