Description:
Morinda citrifolia is an evergreen shrub or small tree.
Leaves: The leaves are large ovate to elliptical in shape. They are arranged in opposite pairs.
Flowers: The flowers are white, tubular and grouped together in dense heads.
Fruit: Fruit is a multiple fruit made up of fused drupes each containing four seeds. When ripe it emits a pungent odor.
USES
Food: The fruit is eaten raw or cooked, and the seeds are edible when roasted. In Thai cuisine, the leaves are used as a vegetable.
