Report of One day International workshop on “Writing and Publishing in UGC CARE Journals”. – August 26, 2019
The workshop “Writing and Publishing in UGC CARE journals” aimed at creating awareness and helping the research fraternity to explore the arenas of publishing in UGC CARE Journals was organized by IQAC of Sree Ayyappa College for Women in association with Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Voice of the Teachers, IMRF and Edu reflector on 26-08-2-19. The inaugural session was presided
over by the Principal. Dr. R.P. Deepa, Programme Co-ordinator detailed the dynamics of the workshop. Dr. A. Palavesam, delivered the inaugural address, which helped in creating an awareness on how and where to publish the articles. He instructed the participants to be shrewd enough to know the fake and genuine journals and go ahead with indexed journals.
Dr. Soloman David, Associate Professor, British University, Dubai spoke on fundamentals of Academic publishing. The post lunch started with the eloquent presentation of Dr. Sameer Babu on “Fix Yourself in Quality Academic Journals: Attributes Concerns and More”. The lecture of Dr. Sameer Babu highlighted the concerns of academic challenges, methodology requirements of every researcher, strategies to follow while writing research paper.
Plenary sessions were held in parallel sessions. Dr. Sameer Babu, Assitant Professor, dept. of Education, Kerala University spoke on the Primary concerns and selection of journals. Dr V. Samuel Gnana Prakash, Professor and Head, Centre for Marine Science and Technology, M.S University, Rajakkamangalam detailed the importance of publishing and how to publish in UGC CARE journals. Voice of the teachers selected four eminent teachers from the colleges and awarded “Young Researcher’s Award” was awarded to four teachers from various colleges.
The valedictory session started with the prayer song at 3.30 p.m. Dr.Umayorubhagan, Secretry, Pioneer Kumaraswamy College, Nagercoil delivered the valedictory address. He distributed the certificates to all the participants. More than 400 Participants attended the workshop.
